Spicy Bacon-Wrapped Meatballs

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef;
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten;
  • 1 lb. bacon, sliced in half;
  • 1/2 tsp. onion powder;
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder;
  • 3 tbsp. chili powder;
  • 4 tbsp. raw honey; (optional)
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper;

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 F.
  2. Mix the ground beef, egg, onion powder, garlic powder, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Shape the mixture into 1.5-inch balls.
  4. Wrap each meatball with a half-slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.
  5. Place the meatballs on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes.
  6. If you’re using the honey, combine it with the chili powder in a separate bowl.
  7. Drizzle the meatballs with chili powder, or rub the honey-chili mixture on each meatball.
  8. Place back into the oven and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes.
