Cinnamon Pork Chops with Spiced Pear Chutney Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4 to 6 pork chops, bone-in;
  • 2 tbsp. chili powder;
  • 2 tsp. ground cinnamon;
  • 2 tsp. garlic powder;
  • 2 tsp. onion powder;
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper;

Spiced Pear Chutney Ingredients

  • 3 pears, peeled, and diced;
  • 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar;
  • 1/4 cup raw honey;
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger;
  • 1/2 tsp. chili powder;
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon;
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg;
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper;

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill to medium-high.
  2. In a bowl mix together the chili powder, cinnamon, garlic powder, onion powder for the pork chops and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Rub the pork chops with chili-cinnamon mix until well coated.
  4. Combine all the ingredients for the pear chutney in a saucepan and season to taste with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook the chutney 8 to 10 minutes over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  6. Meanwhile, grill the pork chops 4 to 5 minutes on each side, then let them sit 3 to 4 minutes.
  7. Serve the pork chops with the pear chutney.
