Mustard-Maple Glazed Turkey Meatballs Recipe

  • 2 lbs. ground turkey;
  • 1/4 cup almond meal;
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten;
  • 1 tsp. paprika;
  • 1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper;
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon;
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced;
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup or raw honey;
  • 2 tbsp. white wine vinegar;
  • 2 tbsp. Dijon mustard;
  • 1 cup unsweetened applesauce;
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper;

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 F.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground turkey, almond meal, beaten egg, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic, and cinnamon. Season to taste and mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into bite-sized meatballs and place on a baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes, or until cooked through.
  5. In a skillet, combine maple syrup, applesauce, white wine vinegar and Dijon mustard over medium heat, and cook for 5 to 6 minutes.
  6. Add meatballs to the skillet and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Serve hot.
